Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 10, 2026
Vice Maps is developed by James Jackson. This policy covers the Vice Maps iPhone app and vicemaps.jsj.sh.
Information in the app
Vice Maps does not require an account or request your physical location. It does not connect to your game account.
Saved places and map caches stay on your device. We do not upload your saved-place list. Apple may include app data in device backups according to your settings.
App analytics
The app uses Chaos Theory to help us understand which features people use and improve the app. Events include app sessions, place opens, category choices, search result counts, bookmark actions, shared links, and share-sheet completion. Search text, share recipients, and message contents are not collected.
Events include a randomly generated app identifier, session identifier, event time, app version, operating-system version, device model, language, and app startup timing. The identifier lets us measure return visits without requiring your name or email. We do not identify you through a game account or advertising identifier.
Analytics is processed by our Chaos service, hosted on Cloudflare. Network providers may process IP addresses to deliver and protect requests. We use the collected app information for product analytics and performance improvements, not advertising or cross-app tracking. Session recording, screen capture, automatic interaction capture, and automatic network instrumentation are disabled.
Apple services
The app uses Apple's operating-system services, including MapKit. Apple may process service or diagnostic information under its own policies and your device settings. See Apple's privacy policy.
This website
This site is hosted by Cloudflare. Hosting and security services may process your IP address, browser details, requested URL, and request time to deliver and protect the site. Saved places in the web map stay in your browser storage. If Apple Maps is enabled, your browser connects to Apple to load its mapping service. Cloudflare may collect aggregate website performance and usage information. We do not use advertising trackers. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address and message. We use this information to respond and resolve your request. Cloudflare routes incoming support email to Google. We keep correspondence only as needed to resolve requests, maintain necessary records, or meet legal obligations.
Retention and your choices
We keep analytics only as needed to understand app use and improve the service. You can ask us about access or deletion at the email address below. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising. Information is shared with service providers needed to operate the app, respond to support, or comply with law.
Deleting the app removes its local data. Previously delivered analytics may remain until it is deleted under our retention practices. Apple manages device backups separately.

External links open third-party websites, which have their own privacy practices.
Children
Vice Maps is not directed at children under 13. We do not ask for children's names or contact information. Contact us if you believe a child has sent us personal information.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if our practices change. For questions or privacy requests, email James Jackson at vicemaps@jsj.sh.
